PUNBUS, PRTC employees announce two hour strike, demand service regularization

The strike will be from 10 am to 12 noon today.

Chandigarh: There will be a strike of PRTC and PUNBUS employees for two hours at all bus stations in Punjab today. The strike will be from 10 am to 12 noon today. Passengers traveling to all bus stations across Punjab may have to face problems. This protest will be done by the contractual employees of PUNBUS and PRTC who have been putting their demand for regularisation before the government for along time.

According to the information received, the meeting of Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC contractual workers of Punjab was with the Transport Minister of the state. Due to some reasons, the minister could not reach for the meeting. The meet remain inconclusive and today workers of PUNBUS and PRTC have announced to protest for two hours.

The temporary employees demanded that the contractors should be removed and there should be parity in salary between employees. The employees have been demanding regularisation of contractual workers for a long time.

Along with this, the employees also said that a meeting has been scheduled with the state’s Transport Minister on the 29th of this month. If no solution is found in the meeting, then the Punjab government will be opposed in the upcoming by-elections.
