Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar’s big confession on resignation

Accepting about resignation, he said that after the party's defeat, he had sent his resignation to PM Modi and the party's national president JP Nadda.

Chandigarh: Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has made a big confession. Jakhar has accepted about giving resignation from the post of president after the party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. Accepting about resignation, he said that after the party’s defeat, he had sent his resignation to PM Modi and the party’s national president JP Nadda.

This confession of Sunil Jakhar came out during a conversation with a private newspaper. The Punjab BJP president said that while offering his resignation, he had said that after the party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, he was freed from his responsibilities on moral grounds.

Sunil Jakhar talking about his resignation said, “It was my responsibility. In such a situation, I met party chief JP Nadda sahab and the PM and said that I should be removed from this responsibility. I cannot remain in this post on moral grounds. The resignation is with him, whatever decision he takes is in his hands. However, I am very clear in my mind that I am responsible for this.”

Punjab BJP denied the news of resignation

Let us tell you that then General Secretary of Punjab BJP Anil Sareen had termed the news of Sunil Jakhar’s resignation from the post of party president as baseless and false. He had said, “Mr. Jakhar is the president of the state unit of BJP and as the president he is fulfilling his responsibility. This is sheer false propaganda being spread by the opposition parties.”
