Ferozepur: As the Punjab Police and BSF have tightened their grip on the border areas and tightened their grip on the drug smugglers, the neighbouring country Pakistan has also increased the consignment of weapons and drugs through drones.
For the last eight-ten days, wherever Chinese drones are being caught in the border areas, consignments of heroin along with weapons are also being caught. After Amritsar border villages now heroine loaded Chinese drone recovered from Ferozepur border village Lakha Singh Wala.
BSF personals Recovered the drone on the information of village farmer. Farmer see the drone in his field and immediately inform to the BSF officials.
In response, the BSF troops conducted a search operation in the suspected area. During the search operation, at around 09:00AM, the troops successfully recovered 01 drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 530 Grams).
BSF officials said that, the narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and 02 illuminating sticks were also found attached with the packet, which was tied to the drone with a metal wire. This recovery occurred in a farming field adjacent to Lakha Singh Wala village in Ferozepur District.
The recovered drone has been identified as a China made DJI MAVIC- 3 Classic. Timely information by a watchful villager to BSF and prompt action by the troops resulted in this significant recovery of a narco-drone launched from across the border.
Drone Caught Regularly from Border Villages
Yesterday, BSF Vigilant team gun down a drone at Amritsar border village Chaklabaksh and recovered 420 grams heroin.
Earlier, on Saturday as well, BSF recovered a similar China-made drone along with a pistol in Punjab’s Ferozepur district. In a statement, the BSF said, “Based on specific intelligence input, BSF troops launched an extensive search operation that led to the recovery of a Pakistani drone and a pistol from the village of Lakha Singh Wala in Ferozepur district. The recovered drone is a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, and the pistol was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and was attached to the drone.”
In another operation on June 22, BSF recovered another drone in the Fazilka area. According to the BSF “On 22nd June 2024, during morning hours, based on information of BSF intelligence wing about presence of a drone with narcotics in border area of district Fazilka, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police carried out a search operation in the suspected area.
During search, at about 07:35 am, the troops successfully recovered 01 drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 520 Grams) from a farming field of Village – Gahlewala of district Fazilka. The narcotics were wrapped in red colour adhesive tape and a metal ring with an illuminating stick was also found attached to it. The recovered drone is identified as China made DJI Mavic- 3 Classic.”
