Punjab Cabinet approves loan waiver for SC families; Rs. 68 crore debt cleared

A big decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting led by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Today, a decision has been taken to waive off the loans of SC families.

Chandigarh, June 3: A big decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting led by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Today, a decision has been taken to waive off the loans of SC families. The CM said that this is a day of relief for thousands of families. The cabinet has approved the promise made by the Finance Minister in the budget. SC families had a loan of Rs 68 crore outstanding.

Loans given till 31 March 2020 are being waived off. All these loans were taken to start small businesses. Education loans were also taken. There is no earning member in any household. This will benefit 4,727 families. All loans taken from PSCFS have been waived off.

The debt is 20 years old, no one has forgiven it

CM said that people’s debt of 20 years has been waived off. This debt includes 30 crore principal amount, 23 crore interest and 15 crore penal interest. This was the outstanding amount for the last 20 years. But in the past, no government has taken a decision in this direction. Punjab government is engaged in ending drug addiction. He said that a big war has been waged against drugs. There is no problem in our rule.

Will follow the system of Dhuri Bank

CM said that taking a loan is not a hobby for anyone. No one thinks that they will take a loan and will pay it later. He said that people work hard. But sometimes the circumstances are not such that they can repay it. The recovery rate of the cooperative bank is running in the mines. But in Dhuri, this recovery rate is very good.

We have advised all the banks to follow this system. He said that big decisions will be taken in the coming time. From farmers to any other class. Our main objective is to make Punjab Rangla Punjab again. If one bead is removed from a rosary, then it is no longer a rosary.

We will not give our share of water to anyone

Regarding the ongoing dispute between Punjab and Haryana over the water of Bhakra Beas, the CM said that we are the heirs of brother Kanhaiya, who used to give water to the enemies. But Punjab will not give its share of water to anyone. Haryana was told many times that its share of water is decreasing. In such a situation, it should use it in the right way,

But no attention was paid in this direction. He said that there are international rules that any agreement should be reviewed after 25 years. It is also written in the repair law. But this has not been happening here for years. Today’s conditions should be studied.
