Chandigarh: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will honour 19 players from Punjab who participated in the Paris Olympics and will get a reward of 9.35 crores.
This team includes 10 players from the bronze medal-winning hockey team. Apart from this, nine players who participated in the Olympics will also be rewarded.
The government’s program will be held at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) in Sector-26, Chandigarh.
The players of the bronze medal-winning hockey team will be honoured by the government by giving an amount of one crore each. Out of the 11 players in the team, 10 are from Punjab. These include Hardik Singh, Krishna Bahadur Pathak, Gurjant Singh, Shamsher Singh, Manpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Jugraj Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, and Germanpreet Singh.
The government will give an amount of Rs 15 lakh each to all the players who participated in the Paris Olympics. A total of 19 players participated in various games. These include shooters Sifat Kaur Samra, Anjum Modgil, Vijayveer Singh Siddhu, Arjun Singh Cheema, Arjun Babuta, and Rajeshwari Kumari.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor in shotput, Akshdeep Singh in walking, golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar, and the rest of the hockey team players are included. However, last time the hockey team players were given appointments to the posts of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Civil Service.
