Punjab: Cobbler arrested in Bathinda for leaking intel to Pakistan, case registered under

After the Pahalgam terror attack, the police have arrested Sunil Kumar, who works as a cobbler in Bathinda Cantt, Punjab. The police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Army Captain Prashant. Investigation of his mobile phone revealed that he was in contact with a Pakistani intelligence operator. The accused contacted the Pakistani agent between 9 May and 13 June 2023 (34 days). During this time he used two numbers. In FIR 0063, the police have also given information about demanding money. The police have seized the mobile phone of the accused and sent it for forensic examination.

As per police, Cobbler Sunil Kumar Ram was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan. WhatsApp chats revealed links with a Pakistani woman. He reportedly shared sensitive information for money. Police have begun further investigation after the army interrogation
