The Congress President has made a major reshuffle in the party organization and appointed new in-charges for many states. The most important decision in this is to appoint former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as the General Secretary of Punjab. This information was shared in a press release issued by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal.
According to this, on the orders of National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain has been made the General Secretary of Punjab as well as Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Talking about Punjab, this responsibility was earlier with Devendra Yadav and he was given this responsibility by the party in December 2023.
The appointment of Bhupesh Baghel is being considered important in Punjab politics. He will take charge of strengthening the organization and making strategies for the upcoming elections. Under the leadership of Baghel, the Congress had performed effectively in Chhattisgarh and now the party hopes that he will strengthen the Congress again in Punjab. After a good performance in the Lok Sabha elections and assembly by-elections, the Congress is trying to get a majority in 2027.
Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has congratulated the newly appointed General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel.
