Ludhiana, July 18: Today, ‘Cyber Safety Kiosk’ machines have been installed in the big cities of Punjab by the DGP Cyber Crime. Cyber fraud will now be greatly stopped with these machines. In the digital age, hackers find out people’s personal information through fraudulent apps and withdraw money from their accounts. People will get information about the viruses or unsafe files on their mobile by scanning the mobile.
People will get information about the permissions given by them on the fraudulent apps on their mobiles, and they can turn off those permissions. Today, this machine has been installed in the single window hall in front of the Police Commissioner’s office in Ludhiana. The machine was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma was also specially present with him.
Minister Arora said that the government is constantly making people aware to protect themselves from cyber fraud. These machines will be increased in the coming days.
What is ‘Cyber Safety Kiosk’?
This kiosk has been created by the National Forensic Science University (NFSU). Its main purpose is to scan and identify dangerous files and apps present in mobile phones, pen drives and other storage devices.
Mainly, it will identify dangerous files like malware, virus, and backdoor, detect apps banned by the Indian Government, provide the exact location of the infected application, and will also perform an in-depth check of Android, iPhone, and Windows apps and will even prepare a detailed report after scanning.
How will it work?
Users will connect their mobile phones or storage devices to the kiosk via USB. The machine will then scan and detect viruses and malware. If a threat is found in the device, the user will be alerted and will get the option to remove the virus through the kiosk itself.
