Chandigarh: The Punjab government has declared April 14 (Monday) as a public holiday across the state to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.
As per the official notification issued by the state government, all schools, colleges, government offices, banks, boards, and corporations will remain closed on this day. The holiday is being observed as a gazetted holiday in honor of Ambedkar Jayanti.
The move aims to pay tribute to Bab Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s immense contribution to the nation, especially in the framing of the Constitution and his relentless efforts towards social equality and justice.
