Punjab: Five veterinary officers dismissed for absenteeism

Mr. Bhandari said that these veterinary officers were absent from duty for the last three to five years.

Taking strict steps to deal with those who are absent from duty for a long time, the Punjab Animal Husbandry Department today terminated the services of five veterinary officers with immediate effect.

Following the directions of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Principal Secretary of the department Rahul Bhandari has issued orders to dismiss five veterinary officers posted in different districts across the state.

The dismissed doctors have been identified as  Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Anupreet Kaur, Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Dr. Jagdeep Singh and Dr. Harmanpreet Singh Bal. Mr. Bhandari said that these veterinary officers were absent from duty for the last three to five years.

S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian clearly said that strict action would be taken against the officers who are absent from duty without sanctioning leave. He said that such negligence will not be tolerated at any cost.
