Punjab gets new Chief Secretary: KAP Sinha to replace Anuarg Verma

The appointments have been made with immediate effect. 

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has appointed KAP Sinha, an IAS officer of the 1992 batch as Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab. Currently, IAS officer Anurag Verma was on the post of Chief Secretary and now KAP Sinha will replace Anurag Verma. The appointments have been made with immediate effect.

It has been about 30 months since the Punjab government came to power. Earlier, senior IAS Anirudh Tiwari was handling the responsibility of this post. About 2 years ago, LAS VK Janjua of 1989 batch was posted to this post.

After this, when he retired, the responsibility of this post was handed over to Anurag Verma. Let us tell you that Anurag Verma took over the responsibility of the post of Chief Secretary on 1 July 2023. KAP Sinha has become the 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab.
