Punjab Government may revoke NSA imposed on Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh

Like the seven Khalistani supporters who were brought to Amritsar from Dibrugarh jail in Assam, the Punjab government can now revoke National Security Act (NSA) from Khadoor Sahib MP and Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh and his two other associates Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Vicky.

Amritsar: Like the seven Khalistani supporters who were brought to Amritsar from Dibrugarh jail in Assam, the Punjab government can now revoke National Security Act (NSA) from Khadoor Sahib MP and Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh and his two other associates Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Vicky.

In fact, the period of NSA imposed on Amritpal Singh has expired on March 22 and no order has been issued to extend the period of NSA till now. The senior officer shared the information on the condition of anonymity that till now no order has been issued to extend the period of NSA of Amritpal and his associates or any other order related to it.

From which it is clear that the Punjab government is now preparing to tighten the noose on Amritpal Singh. They can bring Amritpal Singh and his two other associates Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Vicky to Amritsar in Punjab and include them in the investigation of the attack on Ajnala police station in 2023.

Hearing in High Court on 25 March

On March 21, the Punjab government reached Amritsar with Amritpal Singh’s seven companions and produced them in the court and obtained a 3-day remand. While the hearing in Amritpal Singh’s case was pending. Due to which no decision could be taken regarding Amritpal Singh, Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Vicky.

It is expected that instead of issuing the order now, the government will clarify its decision regarding Amritpal Singh and his two companions in the court on March 25.

7 companions returned to Punjab on 21 March itself

The process of releasing seven companions of Amritpal Singh from Dibrugarh jail and bringing them to Amritsar on production warrant had started from 17 March itself. After which, on the night of 20 March, the process of shifting them from Dibrugarh to Amritsar was started and on 21 March, they were produced in Ajnala Court of Amritsar and a three-day remand was obtained.
