Jalandhar : The Punjab government has reduced the security of MP Sushil Rinku after he left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP. Eight police personnel were posted for Rinku’s security, out of which four personnel have been recalled by the government. Rinku joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on March 27 and security was reduced on the 28th.

After joining the BJP, the leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party have been taking an aggressive stance and on March 27, a protest was also held near their house. AAP workers also tried to surround MP Rinku during the road show on Friday. The district BJP had written a letter to the Election Commission and the Police Commissioner on March 27, demanding that security be increased at the house of Sushil Rinku and MLA Sheetal Angural as there is a conspiracy to surround their houses. Despite this, the state government has reduced Rinku’s security.

Rinku has raised this matter before Home Minister Amit Shah and informed him by writing a letter. MP Rinku said that immediately after joining the BJP, the Punjab government has reduced his security and this has increased the threat to his security. The MP has written that he is fighting against the drug mafia in the whole of Punjab including Jalandhar and has raised the issue several times during his tenure as MP.

Due to this, they are targeted by many criminal elements. A reduction in their security may endanger their lives. He has appealed to the Union Home Minister to provide them security under the Central Government so that they can serve the people of Punjab and the country.
