Transfer of IAS-PCS officers in Punjab: 9 officers given new responsibilities

The Punjab government on Thursday transferred IAS and PCS officers working in several districts and departments.

Chandigarh, July 17: The Punjab government on Thursday transferred IAS and PCS officers working in several districts and departments. According to the order issued by the government, 9 senior officers have been assigned new responsibilities with immediate effect. The purpose of this change is to make the administrative system more robust, effective and accountable.

Major transfers among IAS officers

  • Arvind Kumar MK (IAS), in addition to Director, Treasury & Accounts, has now been given the charge of Special Secretary in the School Education Department and Director General, School Education.
  • Girish Dayalan (IAS) has now been appointed Registrar, Cooperative Societies. He was earlier the Director General in the School Education and Higher Education Department.
  • Harpreet Singh Sudan (IAS) has been appointed as Special Secretary (Revenue) as well as Director of the Sports and Youth Services Department and Director of Higher Education Department.

Major transfers of PCS officers

  • Rakesh Kumar Popli (PCS) has now been appointed as Additional Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority as well as Additional Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar.
  • Amit Sareen (PCS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Defence Services Welfare as well as Secretary, Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board.
  • Ankur Mahindra (PCS) has been appointed SDM Mukerian.
  • Vikas Hira (PCS) has been appointed Additional Chief Administrator, Ludhiana Area Development Authority.
  • Harjot Kaur (PCS) , who was Assistant Commissioner (General) in Ferozepur, will now be the SDM of Patiala.
  • Gurdev Singh Dham (PCS) , who was SDM Patiala, will now take over as Chief Minister’s Field Officer and Assistant Commissioner (General) in Ferozepur.
