Chandigarh: Today marks a historic day in Punjab education reform, as the state government celebrates the successful completion of multiple projects aimed at transforming the education system. Marking a historic leap in the state’s education sector, Punjab Government is set to roll out a 54-day statewide education festival titled ‘Sikhya Kranti’ starting April 7.

The festival will commemorate the inauguration of infrastructure development projects worth Rs 2,000 crore across 12,000 government schools in the state — a move hailed as one of the largest education transformation initiatives in Punjab’s history.

In a major development, the Punjab government has invested Rs 2000 crore to improve 12000 government schools across the state. These reforms include the infrastructure upgrades, the provision of free WiFi, and free bus services for students- initiatives that were unimaginable under previous governments.

Manish Sisodia, the former Delhi Education Minister, praised the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, highlighting their dedication and hard work in fulfilling the promises made to the people of Punjab.

Sisodia also compared the current improvements to the previous Akali-Congress governments, where schools lacked toilets, and sports grounds. With these new projects, Punjab’s schools are now equipped to provide a better future for the students, their parents, and teachers alike.

In his post on X, Sisodia congratulated the Punjab Government and expressed his pride in witnessing this monumental shift in the State’s Education System.
