Punjab Govt cannot escape from liability of Moose Wala’s murder: Sunil Jakhar

Seeking punitive action against those responsible for downgrading the security of the singer, Sunil Jakhar said the Mann government changed its stand to suit its convenience.

Chandigarh: President of the Punjab BJP Sunil Jakhar today said the Punjab government led by CM Bhagwant Mann cannot escape the liability for the murder of singer-turned politician Sidhu Moose Wala.

He said the state government on Friday had admitted in the Supreme Court that the  two days after reduction in security to Shubhdeep Sidhu alias Sidhu Moose Wala by the state government led to the attack on him by gangsters which resulted in his death due to multiple gunshot injuries.

Sunil Jakhar said, “The Mann government first downgraded the security, then brazenly publicized it and also took credit for this decision. Now with this admission in the Court by the state advocate general, chief minister Bhagwant Mann remains equally culpable for the murder of Moosewala.”

Seeking punitive action against those responsible for downgrading the security of the singer, Sunil Jakhar said the Mann government changed its stand to suit its convenience.

Citing inconvenience to residents due blockage of road, Jakhar said, “First they downgraded Moose Wala’s security and later admitted this decision led to the killing. Now the state is using this as an alibi to save its skin and to ensure that the road outside the CM residence in Chandigarh remains blocked much to the inconvenience of residents of the city and surrounding areas,” he said.
