Punjab Govt promotes Eight IPS officers to DGP rank, SS Srivastava to hold special DGP security charge

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has promoted eight senior IPS officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) and assigned them new charges. According to an official order from the Department of Home Affairs, the officers were transferred on administrative grounds with immediate effect. Chandigarh: The Punjab government has promoted eight senior IPS officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) and assigned them new charges. According to an official order from the Department of Home Affairs, the officers were transferred on administrative grounds with immediate effect.

Among those promoted are Naresh Kumar, posted as Special DGP, Human Rights; Ram Singh as Special DGP, Technical Support Services; and S.S. Srivastava as Special DGP, Security. Others include Praveen Kumar Sinha (Intelligence), B. Chandra Sekhar (Modernization), Amarjeet Singh Rai (Traffic & Road Safety), V. Neeraja (Cyber Crime), and Anita Punj (SCRB).

All officers belong to the 1994 batch of the Indian Police Service.
