Indian hockey team player and Olympian Mandeep Singh, who hails from Jalandhar, Punjab, is soon going to marry Indian women’s hockey team defender Udita Kaur, who hails from Hisar, Haryana. Their wedding card has also surfaced.

In the wedding card Olympian is written before the names of both. Both the athletes will tie the knot on March 21 (Friday) at Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Model Town, Jalandhar. Both the families are busy with wedding preparations. Both the players have brought many sports medals for the country.

Who is Mandeep Singh?

Olympian Mandeep Singh is currently posted as DSP in Punjab Police. He was appointed by Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann. Both have been part of the Olympic team.

Olympian Mandeep Singh was born on 25 January 1995 in Mitthapur area in Jalandhar, Punjab. Mandeep Singh was interested in hockey from the very beginning. Mandeep Singh started playing field hockey as a young player of Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar.

Mandeep Singh has won many big matches for India. Mandeep Singh is a part of the Indian men’s national hockey team. He has performed in the World Cup 2014 and 2018, Asian Games 2018, Commonwealth Games 2018, Asia Cup 2013, Hockey World League Tier 4 Final 2014 and 2017, Hockey World League Tier Three 2013 and 2017 and Champions Trophy 2016 and 2018. Mandeep Singh has also won many other big championships.

Who is Udita Kaur?

Udita Kaur Duhan, who belongs to village Nangal in Hisar, Haryana, was born on 14 January 1998. She is currently 27 years old. She was a part of the Haryana hockey team and now represents India at the international level. Udita Kaur Duhan is a defender of the Indian women’s hockey team.

Udita has reached here after a lot of ups and downs. However, she never diverted her attention from the game. Before hockey, Udita also played handball for a long time. Her sports career started with handball ball. But then she tried her hand at hockey.

Udita started at the senior level in the year 2017. She won silver in the 2018 Asian Games, bronze in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and gold in the 2023 Asian Champions Trophy. Also, Udita had a big hand in bringing India to fourth place in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In 2024, she became the highest earning player in the Women’s Hockey India League auction.
