Hoshiarpur, July 7: On Monday morning, a bus full of passengers collided with a car coming from the front in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab. After this, the bus went out of control and overturned on the road, as a result of which 9 people died on the spot. While, more than 17 people were seriously injured.
This accident happened near Adda Sagran on Dasuha-Hajipur road. After the accident, there was a lot of shouting and screaming on the spot. People from the vicinity gathered to help. More than 15 of the injured have been referred to Amritsar in critical condition.
At present, the police have reached the spot and started investigation and the injured are being taken to the hospital for treatment.
After the accident, people from the area and police reached the spot. The help of a JCB machine had to be taken to take out the seriously injured passengers from inside the bus. Many people were trapped in the debris of the bus. A child is also among those who died in the accident.
While the people in the car suffered minor injuries, more than 15 passengers in the bus were seriously injured. The injured are being referred to Amritsar Medical College after primary treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem
The police reached the spot, took the bodies in their custody and sent them for postmortem and started investigating the cause of the accident. In the initial investigation, the high speed of the bus is being considered the main cause of the accident. At present, police officers are investigating the matter.
The bus driver was also seriously injured in the incident. The police is currently trying to identify the deceased. The families of the injured have also been informed about the incident. The police is going to file an FIR in the case.
Eyewitnesses said- the condition of the passengers was very bad
The eyewitness who took the passengers out from the bus said- I had come out of the house and was talking on the phone. During this time this accident happened. Suddenly a noise came and we proceeded to save the passengers. Screams of women and children could be heard from inside the bus. Somehow I got inside the bus that had overturned on the road and took the passengers out one by one. The condition of the passengers was very bad. Many people had died on the spot.
Doctor said – a child was also among the dead.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, the current SMO of Dasuya Civil Hospital, said that many patients have come to us in injured condition. Our teams are treating everyone. When the patients were brought initially, 3 people were found dead. A small child was also among them. Also, some died during treatment.
DSP said – will investigate on the basis of facts
Dasuha DSP Kulwinder Singh, who reached the crime scene, said – investigation of the crime scene so far has revealed that there has been an accident between a car and a bus. Initially, the injured people have been taken out with the help of JCB and people. They have been taken to the hospital. Action will be taken in the case on the basis of whatever new facts come out in the investigation.
