Update: Convicted Tara Singh released in Former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh murder case

Jagtar Singh Tara, convicted of murder of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

Punjab: He was arrested under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and Arms Act is registered against Tara in Goraya police station of Jalandhar Detah. In this case Jalandhar district court release him today.

In Jalandhar court Tara will be produced today amid tight security. But due to some reasons hearing done through video conferencing.

Jagtar Singh Tara, convicted of murder of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. According to the information received,

Tara will appear in the said case. Jagtar Singh Tara’s lawyer KS Hundal said that the court has given time of 2 o’clock. Before appearing him in the court Jalandhar Police administration has tighten security has been deployed in the city.

Jagtar Singh Hawara, Paramjit Singh Bhaora and Jagtar Singh Tara, convicted in the Beant Singh murder, along with their cook and Dev Singh Devi, involved in the murder case but they had absconded from the prison by dug a hidden tunnel in the Barrack number 7. In the year 2004, in January at night they all three absconded.

Accused had uprooted the toilet seat and made a 92 feet long tunnel. One person can go at a time. To prevent the soil from falling, accused used to do water coat mud simultaneously. They had constructed the tunnel till the wall of Budail jail, after that they climb up on the wall and jump over the wall.

Also they opened the mouth of tunnel to side of harm areas.

Jagtar Singh Tara already demanded a parole of five hours for his niece marriage. From the reports he filed a appeal in the court last year. On December 3 from 10 AM to 3PM demanded parole. After hearing all the facts court allowed him only for 2 hours parole. After that again he sent to jail.
