Jalandhar DC hands over ex-gratia grant of Rs. 15 Lakh to the family of employee who passed away during Lok Sabha Elections

Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today handed over approval letter of ex-gratia amount of Rs. 15 lakh to the family of Junior Assistant Surinder Kumar, who passed away while on duty during 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The ex-gratia amount has been directly transferred to the bank account of the deceased employee’s.

Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today handed over approval letter of ex-gratia amount of Rs. 15 lakh to the family of Junior Assistant Surinder Kumar, who passed away while on duty during 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

The ex-gratia amount has been directly transferred to the bank account of the deceased employee’s wife.

Deputy Commissioner visited the home of the deceased employee to offer condolences to his wife, Reena Rani and his mother.

He emphasized that the district administration is committed to providing every possible assistance to the family, in remembrance of Surinder Kumar’s services.

It is noteworthy that Surinder Kumar, an employee of the PWD (B&R) Provincial Division Jalandhar Cantt, had passed away during the Lok Sabha elections.

The district administration promptly initiated the process of providing the ex-gratia amount to Surinder Kumar’s family in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, resulting in the sanctioning of Rs. 15 lakh to the legal heirs of the deceased employee.
