Jalandhar : A teacher of a private school located in Jalandhar Cantt, Punjab sexually assaulted a 5th class child. When this matter came to light, the police immediately registered a case against the teacher and arrested him.
The arrested accused has been identified as Tobias Thapar, a resident of Jalandhar Cantt. Police have added IPC sections 376 (A) (B), 506 and POCSO Act in the case. The police produced the accused in the court and took him on police remand for one day.
Victim’s mother said in her statement to the police – The piano teacher used to call the girl to the Punari canteen side every day from March 2023 to December 2023 and do obscene acts with her. If she refused, he would show her a knife and threaten to kill her.
Victim did not tell anything to her mother because she was afraid of the teacher. When the girl started staying at home due to the ongoing school holidays, she was somehow pressurized and asked about the whole matter. After which a complaint was immediately made to the police and a case was registered against her piano teacher.
Police interrogating the matter
The investigating officer of the case, ASI Rajinder Pal, said that the said accused has been arrested from Jalandhar Cantt area itself. He told that the accused teacher used to teach piano. The matter was reported to the police by the girl’s mother. After which this case was registered.
