Punjab Police has taken major action against drug and arms smugglers. Police have arrested three drug smugglers from Shankar Dhaba located on the Amritsar-Attari road. The accused have been identified as Maninderjit Singh, Peter, and Lovejit Singh. Police have recovered four PX5 sports pistols, 521 grams of heroin, 7 magazines, and 55 cartridges from the accused.

An FIR has been registered against the arrested accused under the NDPS Act and Arms Act at the NTF police station, Mohali. The accused will be produced in court today. Police claim that the entire network will be traced soon. This information has been given by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The police had been investigating for a long time
According to the information, ANTF, Border Range and Amritsar Police of Punjab Police were involved in this operation. The police had received information about this. After this, the police took action as per the entire strategy. Now the police is busy finding their links. Along with this, these days the police is also very strict against drug smugglers. A special operation has been launched by the police.
Earlier, smugglers were caught from Ferozepur
Earlier, the ANTF had caught such a gang which used to import heroin from Pakistan through the Ferozepur border and used to supply it in the tricity i.e. Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali on the pretext of supplying milk.
Similarly, the husband of a sarpanch of Patiala district was arrested, who used to supply heroin under the guise of a tile manufacturing factory.
