Ferozepur: The Punjab Police Counter Intelligence Ferozepur team has arrested Hardeep Singh Deepa, an active smuggler on the Pakistan border near Ghall Khurd village of Ferozepur. The accused is a resident of Ghall Khurd village of Ferozepur and used to sell drugs by establishing contact with Pakistani smugglers from the same area. The police have recovered three modern weapons and narcotic powder from him.
Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav said- Counter Intelligence Ferozepur team had received information that Deepa’s movement is increasing at the said place. Based on the secret information, gangster Hardeep Singh alias Deepa was arrested from Ghall Khurd village. Soon the police will present the accused in the court and take him on remand for interrogation.

A case has been filed against the accused at Fazilka SSOC
Police recovered 3 pistols (one Glock pistol, one Beretta .30 MM pistol, one pump action gun), 141 assorted cartridges (9MM, .30 caliber, 12 bore), 45 grams of heroin and a Swift car from the accused. Preliminary investigation revealed that the weapons were procured from across the border for terrorism and criminal activities in the state. An FIR has been registered against the accused at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Fazilka.
