Punjab police arrests two with four kg Heroin in Amritsar

Amritsar: Punjab police on Wednesday foiled a drug smuggling bid and arrested two people with four kg of Heroin from their procession.  Reports reaching The Savers Times said that the Amritsar rural police has arrested two accused from the main road leading to Baba Gulab Shah Ji’s Dargah with four kg of Heroin.  The accused.

Reports reaching The Savers Times said that the Amritsar rural police has arrested two accused from the main road leading to Baba Gulab Shah Ji’s Dargah with four kg of Heroin. 

The accused have been identified as Sahibdeep Singh and Sukhbir Singh.

“4 kg 107 grams of heroin has been recovered from the accused. This action was taken under Punjab CM’s anti-drug campaign ‘War against Drugs’. The operation is being led by Senior Superintendent of Police Maninder Singh IPS,” police said.

The accused have links with Pakistan

SP (D) Aditya Warrier said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were in contact with a Pakistani smuggler named Kali. This consignment of heroin was sent to India via drone. The accused Sahibdeep Singh is a resident of Hardoi Ratan while Sukhbir Singh is a resident of Mula Beharam.

Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act at Thana Gharinda. Accused Sahibdeep Singh has previously been involved in a drug smuggling case. Police are now investigating other connections of the accused. Their illegal properties are also being traced. If any such property is found, it will be confiscated.
