Ferozpur: Drug smuggling through drones on the India-Pakistan international border has increased continuously in the last few days. Almost every day, consignments of heroin coming through drones are being caught on the border from Amritsar to Ferozepur-Fazilka.
On Monday evening, in a joint search operation with the Punjab Police, the BSF recovered a drone from the fields situated with the fence in Machhiwara, district Ferozepur. Consignment of heroin was loaded on the drone.
BSF officials said that, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab police conducted an extensive search operation in the suspected area. During the search operation, troops successfully recovered 01 drone along with 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 357 grams) from the area adjacent to village- Machhiwara in district Ferozepur.
The narcotics were wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape and 01 nylon loop alongwith a illuminating ball were found attached with the packet. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic. Reliable information of BSF and coordinated efforts with
