Amritsar: In Amritsar, consignments of weapons and drugs are being seized continuously in the border area adjoining Pakistan. In this connection, the police has now seized a consignment of weapons.
The staff of Police Station Ajnala, which comes under Amritsar district, conducted a raid with the help of central agencies and recovered 6 pistols and ten magazines.
The police have arrested 3 people with these weapons. All of them used to send weapons and drugs from Pakistan to the border area on the instructions of their masters sitting abroad.
The arrested accused have been identified as Karanjit Singh of Khalra (Tarntaran), Akash Seth alias Raghu and Sukhdeep Singh, Both resident of Raja Sansi (Amritsar).
DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav also reveal on his social media account that In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Rural Police in close coordination with central agencies has busted Narcotics- Organised Crime nexus by arresting three associates working on the directions of USA based smuggler Bhola Havelian (Brother of Ranjit Cheeta) FIR under Arms Act registered at PS Ajnala and investigations on-going to establish backward & forward linkages Recovery: Six pistols & 10 magazines. Punjab Police will take stern action against all involved in organised crime & illegal weapon smuggling networks
