Jalandhar : Two days before voting in Punjab on June 1, there was an encounter between the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the police and the gangster of Jammu in Jalandhar.
Jalandhar Rural Police surrounded gangster Rohit Rana alias Makhan. After which he fired 4 bullets at the police. Then he hide in a house. After cross firing with the gangster, the police arrested the gangster.
After which he has been brought to Bhogpur police station. Initial investigation revealed that gangster Rana had murdered sub-inspector Deepak Sharma in Kathua, Jammu. Since then he was absconding.
Late Wednesday evening, the police got input that he had come to village Mumandpur in Bhogpur. After which the police surrounded him by setting a trap. But he started firing and hid in a house to escape. After which the police surrounded the house from all sides. After this, gangster Rana was shot in the leg in the cross firing. After which the police arrested him.
The police is interrogating him in Bhogpur police station. His mobile details are also being searched to find out how he came here and which of his acquaintances live here.

AGTF’s AIG Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said that gangster Rohit Makhan is a resident of Jammu. He had connections with gangsters of Punjab. The criminal had also shot dead a sub-inspector in Kathua. He was hiding in Punjab.
On Wednesday, the police surrounded the gangster in the same house where he was hiding. Seeing this, he opened fire on the police. He fired 4 bullets at the police. The police asked Makhan to surrender but he kept firing. The gangster got injured after being shot. 2 pistols have been recovered from the accused.
It is being ascertained with which gangsters of Punjab he has connections. The criminal was living here for the last 10 days. The police is investigating the matter. They hoped that more revelations will be made in this case very soon.
