Punjab Police to conduct operation CASO across State, DGP Gaurav Yadav to lead

Chandigarh:  Operation CASO will be conducted across the state today (October 9, 2024) by the Punjab Police to crack down on criminals. This operation will be led by DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav himself. Along with this, senior officers of Punjab Police will also be in the field under this operation. This operation CASO  will be launched on the initiative of Safe Neighborhood.

The festive season has started across the country. This week is Dussehra, while the panchayat elections in the state are scheduled to be held on October 15. In such a situation, the Punjab police is is action mode and taking action against criminals on a large level.

This operation CASO will run in all the districts of the state. It will involve the police of 412 police stations. More than eight thousand employees will participate in the operation across Punjab. A detailed plan has been prepared to make this operation a big success. Through this operation, search operations will be held at hideouts of criminals, drug peddlers, etc. In Amritsar, CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar will lead operation CASO whereas in Ludhiana, CP Kuldeep Singh Chahal will lead the operation.

Lists of criminals, drug traffickers have been prepared by the police in all districts. Special surveillance is being kept on the people included in the list. A similar campaign is being conducted in the border areas as well. Officials say that our effort is to provide a safe environment to the people in the state. Before this, CASO operation has been done about seven times. A large quantity of drugs, weapons and other goods have been recovered.
