In Punjab, Chinese Manjha, synthetic material string called Manjha have been completely banned in the state. These orders have been issued by the Pollution Control Board of Punjab. There is also a provision of punishment by the Punjab Pollution Control Board in this regard.
It has been told that from 05 January i.e. today, using the powers conferred under Section 5 of the Environment Act, 1986, instructions have been issued that there will be a complete ban on the manufacture, sale, storage, purchase, supply, import and use of kite flying string made of nylon, plastic and any other synthetic material and any synthetic string on which there is glass or sharp substance, in the state of Punjab.
A fine of 10 thousand to 15 lakhs will be imposed
The Pollution Control Board has said that if any person violates the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 or the instructions issued under the rules made under it, then a fine of at least 10 thousand rupees will be imposed on him which can be increased to 15 lakh rupees.
The department has also appealed to the people of the state to cooperate in this noble work of the government by not using Chinese string, nylon, synthetic thread for kite flying. The department has also said that if a person gives report to the department about chinese Manjha, he will be rewarded.
