Chandigarh, July 8: In Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has also started working on expanding the organization, keeping in mind the assembly elections to be held in the year 2027. After meeting with district representatives and observers, the party has appointed 33 district heads. These include both urban and rural heads.
This decision was taken by party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. Senior party leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that this decision will strengthen the party. He said that young and experienced people have been given a chance in the team.
The process of appointment of Akali Dal chiefs should be known in two points –
1. Announced the list of 33 district presidents (both urban and rural) of Shiromani Akali Dal. For this, meetings of district representatives were held in all the districts, which were chaired by district observers. The observers submitted their report to the party headquarters. Based on the report of the respective observers and after consultation with other important leaders of each respective district, the SAD president released the list of new district presidents.
2. Pathankot district has not been finalised and the entire responsibility of reorganising this district has been given to senior leader and core committee member S Gurbachan Singh Babbehali. The future strategy will now be prepared by him.
Entry of Harish Dhanda and Samra in the core committee
Party chief Sukhbir Badal has included Harish Rai Dhanda, a prominent lawyer and senior Akali leader from Ludhiana, in the party’s core committee. Apart from this, S Jodh Singh Samra, a young Akali leader from Ajnala, who is also a member of the SGPC, has been included in the party’s core committee.
