Chandigarh: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested 4 people of the joint Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) team of Haryana and Punjab red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 70,000 during a sting operation.
The accused, along with other officials and private persons, had formed an inter-state nexus for illegal ultrasound gender determination tests from various clinics running in Punjab and Haryana. From where they used to charge good money. The Mohali Flying Squad team has registered a case against the accused.
Accused from peon to pharmacist
The accused have been identified as Deepak Goyal, pharmacist in Civil Hospital Sirsa, Gurjeet Singh, District Coordinator of PNDT, Civil Surgeon posted in Barnala, Raj Singh, peon in Civil Surgeon Office Bathinda and Surinder Singh posted as driver in Civil Surgeon Office Sirsa.
