Punjab Weather: Cold to increase in Punjab-Chandigarh as temperature will drop further below normal

There has been a slight change in air pollution due to the wind direction being towards the west.

Chandigarh: The weather will remain dry in Punjab and Chandigarh today. Similar weather is likely to continue for the next seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance has become active. Due to this there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in many areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Fresh snowfall also occurred in some areas, after which mild cold increased in the plains. According to the Meteorological Center, the winds are moving from the mountains to the plains. After the fresh snowfall, day and night temperatures will further drop by 2 to 3 degrees in the coming days.

Due to this, cold will increase in the plains. Yesterday, the lowest temperature was recorded in Adampur at 6 degrees. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh was 8.7 degrees, which was 2.2 degrees lower than normal.

North India has been plagued by pollution for about one and a half months due to a lack of rain. The pollution level is likely to decrease only after rain. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Punjab’s Ludhiana and Amritsar has once again crossed 200, while in other cities, it is between 100 and 200.

But some relief has been seen in Chandigarh. There has been a slight change in air pollution due to the wind direction being towards the west. The AQI in Chandigarh remains below 200.
