If the Chandigarh Meteorological Center is to be believed, the mercury is likely to reach 44 degrees in the next 5 days. The center has issued an advisory by issuing an alert for next 2 days, if not necessary, do not go out of the house from 11 am to 4 pm.

Keep yourself hydrated as much as possible. An increase in day temperature was seen once again on Thursday. It was the highest temperature ever recorded. The maximum temperature was recorded at 41.9 degrees, which was 3 degrees above normal. If the temperature goes up to 44 degrees or more in a few days, it will be the first time since 2004 that the temperature will be so high in May.

Orange alert by the department on 18-19
The department has also given an alert for 5 days. Yellow alert on Friday and orange alert on 18-19. While last night’s temperature was recorded at 25 degrees.

According to the Centre, the weather is dry in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh at present and the heatwave continues. At present, an increase in the day temperature was being seen, but in a few days the night temperature will also increase. Haryana’s Sirsa recorded 47 degrees and Bathinda 44 degrees, which is the highest temperature so far. There is a similar situation in Chandigarh.

Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water
Avoid going out in the sun. Stay indoors during extreme heat (11 am to 4 pm). If you have to go outside, wear light colored loose clothes and cover your head with a cap, cloth or umbrella.

Take care of vulnerable groups
Pay special attention to the elderly, children and people with pre-existing health conditions. Avoid outdoor activities and exercise during peak summer hours.
