Punjab Weather: Rain Alert in 3 districts, 27 percent less rainfall so far recorded

Today, rain may be in Pathankot, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar in Punjab.

Jalandhar: Due to the activation of the Western Disturbance, cyclonic circulation has become active in Punjab and two neighboring states. Due to this no alert has been issued for Punjab today, but rain has been forecast in three districts.

Due to the cyclonic circulation area, the minimum temperature of Punjab is currently higher than normal, while the maximum temperature is recording a slight drop. The Meteorological Department has said that the minimum temperature will drop by 4 degrees in the next 48 hours, increasing the cold.

Today, rain may be in Pathankot, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar in Punjab.

“The effect of the active cyclonic circulation in Punjab will be visible in the hills in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has predicted light drizzle, rain and snowfall in the hills. Due to this, the cold will increase in the hilly areas.”

After which the effect of cold winds coming from the mountains will be seen in the plains and a slight drop in temperature will be recorded here.

This year is also starting with less rainfall in Punjab. Due to this the concerns of environmentalists have increased. From January 1 to 22, Punjab received 27 percent less rainfall than normal. Usually, there is 11.4 mm of rainfall in the first 22 days of January, but so far only 8.3 mm of rainfall has been recorded.
