Punjab Weather: Slight improve in Chandigarh’s AQI, fog alert issued in 15 districts of state

Reportedly, 888 cases of stubble burning were registered in Punjab on Monday.

Chandigarh: Cold is increasing continuously in Punjab. Along with this, there is fog alert in 15 districts of Punjab as per the weather department. AQI crossed 200 in 5 cities. Along with this, the temperature has dropped by 10 degrees. Air quality has improved slightly in Chandigarh. On the other hand, pollution has increased very much in many places in Punjab. Reportedly, 888 cases of stubble burning were registered in Punjab on Monday.

The night temperature is decreasing due to which it is cold in the night. The temperature dropped by 1.5 degrees last night. Not only this, the temperature in most of the cities of Punjab has gone below 10 degrees. After this drop in temperature, the situation is becoming normal.

Earlier, 750 cases of stubble burning were registered. When the incidence of stubble burning increases, it has a direct impact on the air quality of the surrounding areas. The level of pollution in Punjab has once again reached an alarming level during 24 hours.

It is having an impact on Delhi as well as Punjab. If we pay attention to the wind speed at this time, its direction is towards Delhi. Last time also when the cases of stubble burning increased, the air pollution towards Delhi increased gradually. This is the reason why Delhi’s air quality is in the ‘severe’ category. Along with this, the level of pollution is more than 200 in 5 out of 8 cities of Punjab. While Chandigarh has seen a slight decrease in the level of pollution.
