Punjab Weather: Some districts wake up to winter’s first light rain, temperature dips further

Chandigarh: After the cold wave in Punjab, now the fog has started troubling. A yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in Punjab till December 25. The western disturbance will be active in Punjab from the night of 26. According to the information shared by the Meteorological Department, the temperature of Pathankot in Punjab was recorded at 3 degrees, while the temperature of Chandigarh rose to around 7 degrees.

At the same time, light drizzle was seen in some districts of Punjab in the morning today.

A yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in 5 districts of Punjab today. According to this alert, fog is expected to prevail in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ludhiana, Barnala and Bathinda of Punjab. It is estimated that this fog will bother more in open areas. Along with this, there is a possibility of sunshine in the afternoon and the temperature will remain close to normal.

A western disturbance has become active in the form of cyclonic circulation in Punjab. At the same time, another cyclonic circulation is also active on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. After which it is estimated that light rain may occur in the plains of Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana today.

Along with this, a western disturbance is going to become active from the night of 26 December. There is a possibility of rain at one or two places on 26 December and in the entire Punjab on 27 December.
