Punjab Weather: Storm and rain alert in 20 districts of Punjab for 5 days

The temperature in Punjab is continuously increasing due to the heat. Despite the alert on Thursday, no rain was reported anywhere, but after 2 o'clock in the night, there was a storm in many districts and light drizzle also occurred.

Despite the alert on Thursday, no rain was reported anywhere, but after 2 o’clock in the night, there was a storm in many districts and light drizzle also occurred. On average, there has been an increase of 0.9 degrees in the temperature in the past day. According to the Meteorological Centre, the effect of a western disturbance can be seen in the state even today, and strong winds can blow at a speed of 60 km.

According to the Meteorological Centre Chandigarh, the average maximum temperature of the state increased by 0.9 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. However, the temperature remained around normal. The highest temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bathinda.

Today, an alert has been issued in 20 districts of Punjab. According to the Meteorological Center Chandigarh, there are 12 districts of Punjab where orange alert has been issued. Whereas yellow alert has been issued in 8 districts.

10 districts of Punjab where the temperature crossed 40 °C

According to the report released by the Meteorological Department, the temperature is continuously increasing due to a lack of rain for the last few days.

Temperatures above 40 degrees were recorded in the following districts of Punjab-

  2. Ludhiana – 41.4°C
  3. Patiala – 42.2°C
  4. Faridkot – 42.0°C
  5. Bathinda – 44.3°C
  6. Firozpur – 41.0°C
  7. Ropar (AWS) – 40.3°C
  8. SBS Nagar – 40°C
  9. Moga – 40°C
  10. Sangrur- 42°C

Rain forecast for Punjab next 5 days

The five-day warning issued by the India Meteorological Department, Chandigarh has predicted strong winds (40-60 kmph), thunderstorms and lightning in many districts of the state.

• May 30: Orange alert has been issued in Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Sangrur. Whereas, yellow alert has been issued in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Barnala, Bathinda and Mansa.

• From May 31 to June 2: Yellow alerts have been issued in Himachal adjoining districts – Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali and Patiala.
