The weather will change in Punjab and Chandigarh from today, March 12. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain at some places till March 15, while there is a possibility of lightning and thunderstorms at some places on March 13 and 14. This situation is being created due to the activation of Western Disturbance.
Today, there is a possibility of cloud cover and light rain in nine districts of the state. However, there will be no change in temperature. In the last 24 hours, the temperature of the state has increased by 1.1 degrees. It has been recorded 3.1 degrees above normal. The highest temperature of Bathinda has been recorded at 30.6 degrees. However, due to increase in temperature, heat is now being felt during the day.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur at some places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran, Amritsar and Ferozepur districts today. However, no warning of any kind has been issued. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for storm in Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana on 13-14 March.
There will be a yellow alert for rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur on 13 March. While on 14 March, rain is expected in 13 districts of Punjab.
