Punjab Weather Update: Amritsar night temperature drops @ 2 C, possibility of rain ruled out

The weather is expected to remain dry in Punjab-Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: After snowfall in the mountains, a huge change is being seen in the temperature of Punjab-Chandigarh. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in view of the increasing cold. The average temperature of Punjab increased by 1.5 degrees and the temperature of Chandigarh increased by 0.4 degrees. Amritsar was the coldest city in the plains, where the temperature was recorded at 2 degrees, which is the lowest this season.

According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, apart from Chandigarh, a cold wave alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar. But there is no possibility of rain right now. Due to this, the weather is expected to remain dry in Punjab-Chandigarh.

There will be shivering cold in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Center, the Western Disturbance is active, which can now be seen in the form of a cyclone on the Delhi-Haryana border. This is the reason why a cold wave alert has been issued till December 13. During this period, the temperature in Punjab-Chandigarh will see a drop of 2 to 3 degrees.
