Punjab Weather Update: Bathinda hottest @ 43.9 degrees, rain alert after May 1

Bathinda recorded a maximum temperature of 43.9 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in Punjab.

The heat has intensified in Punjab. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Chandigarh Centre, although the average maximum temperature in the state on the previous day decreased by 0.5 degrees Celsius compared to normal, it is still 2.5 degrees Celsius higher than normal. Bathinda recorded a maximum temperature of 43.9 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in Punjab.

2 days of heat, 2 days of rain warning

Meteorological Department has warned of different levels of weather in many districts of the state for 4 days. Warnings have been issued as follow:

April 29: Fazilka, Muktsar, Firozpur, Faridkot, Bathinda and Mansa. Yellow alert for heat wave in India.

30 April: There is a possibility of heat wave in the above-mentioned cities.

May 1: Orange alert issued for rain and strong winds in Pathankot, Hushiarpur, Rupnagar and Mohali.

Apart from these, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Moga, Sangrur, Patiala. And there is a possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning in many districts including Fatehgarh Sahib.

May 2: Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Rain, thunder in Hushiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Patiala, Bathinda and Mansa. And there is a possibility of lightning.
