Punjab Weather Update: Effect of fresh snowfall in plains, temperature dropped by 5 degrees

After fresh snowfall in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, the temperature in the plains has dropped. Cold winds are blowing, which has given relief to the people from the increasing heat. Such weather is expected to continue for two days. After March 30, the temperature will again increase by 3 to 5 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds are also expected in some districts of Punjab during this period.

In the last 24 hours in Punjab, the maximum temperature has dropped by an average of 5.7 degrees Celsius. However, it is 3.1 degrees Celsius less than normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius, which was in Gurdaspur.

Punjab is also witnessing less than normal rainfall in the month of March. By the 28th of March, the state normally receives 21.5 mm of rain, whereas till now only 7.6 mm of rain has been recorded. At the same time, last month also 20 percent less rainfall was recorded in the state. Last month, the state received 21.6 mm of rain, while normally 27.1 mm of rain is recorded.
