Summer has arrived in Punjab. The average maximum temperature in the state has increased by 1.1°C, while it remains 2°C above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 32.6°C, which is the highest so far this season. However, after the western disturbance became active, a yellow alert has been issued for rain in seven districts of Punjab today.
Meteorologists predict that the temperature may increase further in the coming days. There is a possibility of increase in temperature at the rate of 1°C daily. Not only this, in the coming one week, the temperature of most of the cities of Punjab will reach close to 32 degrees.
After the western disturbance became active, rain is possible in Punjab today. A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Pathankot, Ferozepur, Moga, Bathinda, Fazilka, Faridkot, and Muktsar Sahib. In other cities of Punjab, an alert has been issued for cloudy weather in addition to sunny weather.
