Punjab Weather Update: last night rain brings down temperature, strong winds predicted

Overall, the effect of severe heat was seen in most parts of Punjab.

The weather in Punjab has once again taken a turn. On Sunday, May 11, the maximum average temperature of the state has increased by 1.8 degrees Celsius, although in the evening, there were reports of rain from many districts of Punjab. After which the temperature is coming down.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Samrala (Ludhiana) has recorded a temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius, which is the hottest place at the moment. The temperature in Chandigarh reached 38.9 degrees Celsius, Patiala 39.0 degrees Celsius and Bathinda 39.1 degrees Celsius, while in districts like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur and Fazilka, the temperature also remained between 37 to 39 degrees. Overall, the effect of severe heat was seen in most parts of Punjab.

But, as soon as evening came, strong winds started blowing in the state. At the same time, it also rained in many areas at night. Due to which people got relief from the heat.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms, strong winds (40–50 km/h) and lightning in many districts of Punjab on May 12. According to the Meteorological Department, except for North Punjab (Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Nawanshahr etc.), light rain warning has been issued in the remaining districts.

At the same time, after 24 hours the weather will start becoming normal again and the temperature will increase again.
