Chandigarh: A yellow alert has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Punjab today as well. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in the districts adjoining Himachal. There was no report of rain in the state on Tuesday and the sky remained clear most of the time.
Due to which the maximum temperature of the state on May 6 increased by an average of 8.4 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, the temperature of Punjab on Tuesday is about 4 degrees Celsius below normal. The highest temperature in Punjab was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius in Samrala.
According to the Meteorological Department, yesterday it was sunny in most of the districts and the sky remained clear most of the time. This is the reason why the temperature increased by 8.4 degrees in a day.
Today, a yellow warning has been issued regarding rain and storm in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Mohali of Punjab. According to the IMD, winds can blow at a speed of 40 km in these areas. While the weather is likely to remain normal in the state.
On April 8, thunderstorm and lightning warning has been issued again in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Ferozepur.
