Jalandhar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Chandigarh Center has issued a warning about severe weather conditions in many districts of Punjab in the coming days. Strong winds (40–60 km / h), lightning and dust storms are expected till May 5, 2025.

At the same time, strong winds and dust storms blew at a speed of 20 to 30 km in Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Pathankot last night and it also rained. Due to which there has been a drop in temperature. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of squall-like conditions in Patiala, Mohali, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot districts during the next few days, in which the wind speed can exceed 80 km / h.

This situation can pose a threat to crops, kutcha houses, trees, and power lines. People have been advised to be alert and stay in safe places.

The average maximum temperature of the state has been recorded 0.2 ° C below normal. Although it is within normal limits, heat remains intense at some places. The highest temperature was recorded at 41.2°C in Bathinda. After the rain at night, the temperature has dropped in cities across Punjab.
