Chandigarh : The effect of Western Disturbance (WD) has started reducing in Punjab since last one week. Despite the forecast of rain in the last 24 hours, there was no rain anywhere. After which an increase of about 0.9 degrees has been seen in the average temperature of Punjab. It is expected that after a few days of relief, the temperature will increase once again.
The effect of the sluggish western disturbance will be seen today only in the 6 districts of Malwa in Punjab, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Moga and Bathinda. It is estimated that it may rain here today and winds may blow. Due to which a yellow alert has been issued in the said 6 districts of Punjab. No alert has been issued in the rest of Punjab.
Punjab should be ready for heatwave again
After the western disturbance subsided, an alert has been issued again regarding heatwave in Punjab. Yellow alert has been issued from Sunday 9th June onwards. According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, the temperature will cross 45 degrees again within the next 6 days.
At the same time, there is no relief from heatwave in June as well. Like the month of May, the month of June is also going to be hot.
Know the temperature of the cities of Punjab
Amritsar- The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 40.1 degrees last Friday, which was 1 degree less than normal. But today the temperature can reach 41 degrees.
Jalandhar- The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 38 degrees yesterday. Today this temperature will increase by about 3 degrees and is expected to reach close to 41 degrees.
Ludhiana- The maximum temperature of Friday was recorded at 39.4 degrees. Whereas today this temperature can increase by about 3 degrees. It is estimated that the temperature of Ludhiana can be around 43 degrees today.
Patiala- The maximum temperature was recorded at 40.7 degrees yesterday. It is estimated that this temperature can reach 42 degrees today.
Mohali- The maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 39.5 degrees. This temperature can reach 42 degrees today.
