No alert has been issued regarding rain or strong winds in Punjab today. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature recorded an average drop of 1.6 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in the state was 3.7 degrees Celsius below normal, making the weather relatively cool.
Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of the state at 37.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Chandigarh was 34.2 degrees Celsius, which was 3.6 degrees Celsius below normal. The maximum temperature in most districts of the state including Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Faridkot and Jalandhar was 3 to 4 degrees below normal.
The Meteorological Department has not issued any alert in Punjab today and Friday. At the same time, the weather will remain calm across the state. But the western disturbance is becoming active once again on May 10-11.
According to which, warning of storm and lightning has been issued in Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Mohali, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and surrounding districts.
Yellow alert has been issued to these districts. Which means that people should be alert and prepared for bad weather conditions.
