Punjab Weather Update: Yellow alert in Gurdaspur, cold winds persist after light rain

According to the Meteorological Center, the effect of the Western Disturbance, which has been active since February 4, has not been seen in Punjab.

Jalandhar: There is a possibility of rain in Punjab today. A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Gurdaspur district. No other alerts have been issued across the state. It is expected that light fog may fall in some areas of the state, while most of the districts are likely to remain cloudy. Along with this, cold winds are likely to blow in many districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance may become active once again in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Center, the effect of the Western Disturbance, which has been active since February 4, has not been seen in Punjab.

In the last 24 hours, 1 mm of rain was recorded in Pathankot and Moga of Punjab. While other districts remained dry. It remained cloudy in most of the districts at night and similar weather is expected to remain today as well.

Western Disturbance is becoming active from February 8

Punjab recorded 59 percent less rain in the month of January. The beginning of February has also been dry. Two Western Disturbances have become active so far this month, but their impact has not been seen in Punjab.

Now from February 8, a new Western Disturbance is becoming active towards Punjab. Its impact is expected to be seen in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand as well while dry weather is expected in the plains.
