Chandigarh: After persistent heat and humid weather in Punjab, people might get big relief in the form of rain. There have been clouds in Punjab since morning. Along with this, rain alert has been issued in 4 districts of Punjab today. The pace of monsoon season is slowing down in Punjab. No alert has been issued by Punjab Weather Update (IMD) for Punjab for the next 6 days, but despite this, light rain has started since morning. With this, the weather has become pleasant.
Rain is likely in 4 districts of the state. A flash alert has been issued in Sangrur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Ludhiana till 8.30 am. Most of the areas of Punjab recorded a drop of 0.9 degrees in maximum temperature due to light cloud cover. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Amritsar at 37.3 degrees.
In Punjab, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa are expected to receive normal rain today while light rain is expected in the other 16 districts. Some districts of the state are likely to receive normal rain on August 25-26. While on August 27, the adjoining districts of Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive good rain.
It is to be noted that light rain was seen in some districts of Punjab on Friday. In Punjab’s Ludhiana, where only rain has fallen. While Patiala recorded 4 mm, Ferozepur 0.5 mm and Ludhiana only. Along with this, a slight drop in temperature has been recorded.
